I would be more than willing to pay someone to fix Linux.
I am trying to support Linux as a small business, but if anyone else is willing to post that they would repair Linux for money they can. I live in the Waterloo area, though. I'd still be willing to support you for money.
And as for Debian, that would be a job for the in-home support person who would be willing to take it on.
I would say stay with what you have if it's working.
As an aside, at one time I was highly computer literate. I majored in computer science in university. I used computers from then on, but did not stay current with research and development. So shortly thereafter I became a "dinosaur".
Interesting.
I have one question about my old version of Mint 17. It has been working fine, albeit slowly, however I had a message 3 days ago when logging on (Firefox browser), advising me that this version is soon going into retirement, as it's now 5 yrs old and support ends at 5 yrs.
Yeah, Mint 17 and 18 are no longer supported, but you can still use the computer and do everything on it, and all your files will still be there, it's just getting slowly less secure. Let's talk about you trusting your Mint 20 computer again. Can you make a backup of your files? Like I said, I'd keep Mint 20 until it doesn't work. Let me know what you're thinking.
