I guess it's not popular, but I use a package installer called Yum which should deal with RPMs, (I think!?!?) and I use the frontend called Yumex, which insulates me from a lot of the decision making and nuts & bolts, but it also means I don't get to learn a lot either,\ Yes, I used to be a Senior Programmer Analyst, but that was back in the days of steam driven computers. I'm semi-retired now and everything has changed from the days of my FORTRAN IV and 8 bit assembler. They came out with this "C" language stuff. I never could get the hang of "pointers." I'm going to se if I can find a way to give Yum a new "repository", but I've never been successful at this in the past. There must be some documentation around here somewhere about it. -- Regards, Fred Williams <unclefred [ at ] fredwilliams [ dot ] ca> <http://www.fredwilliams.ca>
