Yeap, I could put a small demo together turning my laptop into the dual
role of my "basement server" and my main e-mail client.

Hi John, Pedro, Bill, Scott:
Would you guys like to put on a demo of what these tools and techniques
do and how to set them up?
I suggest that this be the presentation for the December meeting, on
Thursday Dec 6.

Gave this a try. It looks like the way I'll go, though a bit of a
nuisance that it does
not seem to get mbox (used by Tbird). Actually maildir seems to be a
bit nicer in some
respects, so I can probably live with having the backup in a
different format from active
files. Thanks to Pedro and all who replied.
Best, JN
