These days you can spend less than $50 (well, $49.99+tax) and get a
Belkin F5D7230-4 at thesourcecc.com (formerly RadioShack) which also
runs linux (though most versions of it only have 2MB flash unlike the
WRTs which have 4 or 8, so openwrt probably won't work on it).

Even if you don't want to hack it, it still makes a decent,
inexpensive router.
