Re: Reminder of L3GO meeting a week from today.

Thank you, Michael. *Very much* appreciate the mini-tutorial.

That's not how SMTP or mailing lists actually work.
SMTP has a set of *envelope* senders and receivers. That happens in SMTP (RFC5321)
not RFC5322.  [RFC821 -> RFC5321, RFC822 -> RFC5322]

What you see as headers is the letter inside the envelope.

(Yes, there are some gateway'ed environments, (including to do this day,
MS-Exchange) which can't comprehend the difference, and 30 years later, still
send bounces to the wrong people, but..)

it's almost entirely about the "reputation" of the entity (the IP address) of
the machine sending out linux-ottawa.org. An OVH IP which I ... well, I have
no idea who owns it. I guess I thought it was Ben or RGB.

There are multiple, poorly run, even abandonned, reputation lists which many
big players abuse. Abuse, because grant authority to lists that they don't
operate, and then point at someone else when there complaints.

Trend<->Cisco-Umbrella<->McAfee ... and then google, and outlook.com who
don't even know. outlook recently blocked IP addresses from their internal
abuse people from being able to deliver to outlook.com....
