Even from Clarenville Newfoundland, we can at least post msgs.
Looks like the Linux system needs an update/upgrade. Possibly someone
willing to do this. I'll be home late in week if nothing sorted by then.

Hello Prof. Nash,
I originally contacted you in April as I was in need of Linux help. You
kindly posted an ad on my behalf and I did receive help from the Linux club.
Unfortunately, I continued to have issues, but at least could use my
computer, with a certain amount of rebooting. Things have now gotten
worse and I can't access at all. Two weeks ago, I purchased a newer
computer on which I was obliged to install Windows as I was to start a
new work project and needed Windows as a prerequisite. Although I can't
really stand Windows, I must say I'm happy to have it right now since my
Linux system is non-functioning.
I did send an email to Paul Hays (who was the person who helped out in
April). He sent me a manual containing info on restoring desktop icons
(which are part of the current problem) I read some of the info but once
again, Linux support is not for the non-tech savvy. Paul had stated in
his email he would phone, but never did.
I'm wondering if you would be willing to help out again by posting an ad
for your club members. Perhaps someone else will offer assistance.
Thanks and best regards,
Marlene Harris
