Further to queries about email a couple of weeks ago, I'm now fairly convinced that the uOttawa mail server has some sort of protocol glitch. I can regularly, though not every time, get lock-up when I try to copy or move a file between folders on Thunderbird, and Evolution and Claws won't seem to work at all with this server. I have no issues with gmail servers. I'm wondering if someone has skills at logging the protocol details when the mailboxes are opened etc. to see if I can get more information. The Help Desk is, of course, squawking about "unsupported" software. I'll happily provide pizza and wine if someone cares to give a hand in diagnosing what is going on. I don't even mind being embarrassed if it turns out that I've missed some important setting. It would be good to know what the issue it. Cheers, JN
