[OCLUG-Tech] RetroShare P2P

Hello all,

Have any of you guy ever heard of and/or used RetroShare? I'd be
interested in hearing from any of you who have used this system. For
those who haven't their Website's description says:

RetroShare is a Open Source cross-platform, private and secure
decentralised communication platform.
It lets you to securely chat and share files with your friends and
family, using a web-of-trust to authenticate peers and OpenSSL to
encrypt all communication.
RetroShare provides filesharing, chat, messages, forums and channels

It's basically secure P2P (which they call friend-to-friend or F2F) but
with some 'social networking' thrown in for chat, messaging, forums,
etc. OpenSSL is used to encrypt communications and GnuPG for
authentication.

Given the ever increasing and onerous attempts to violate our privacy
and freedoms by governments of all stripes and criminal corporate
conglomerates, it is incumbent upon us to protect ourselves from them.
