Hi everyone,
My name is Jeff Green. I recently started up an ethical hacking website
that strongly pushes Linux. I'm a former student of Algonquin College
(Richard Hagemeyer) CST program. One of the key objectives of the
website is a proof of concept. We take systems we find in peoples
garbage and insert them into a cloud computing environment connected
through an open source intranet. We want to be the most powerful
garbage pile in the world. At the same time we have a number of other
projects all linked where we create a "playground" for people to learn
on real equipment and for students to polish their resume with real
world experience. People can administer various applications and
services that are found in the enterprise environment. 95% of what we
do is Linux based.
I was wondering if this would be something that would interests people
with a short 30 minute presentation on. I would discuss what linux tools
we use to make our intranet and the services required to function. Some
key areas: virtualization, bind, apache, sql, squid, nagios, firewalls,
and IPS's, VPN, ssh and various command line tools such as PB&J etc.
The website is http://group51.org
Again, it's an *ethical* hacking group that is in no way linked or
promotes illegal activity. We just started our group in July. Most of
our 170 members are in Canada but we have members are far away as India.
We are based in Ottawa.
Cheers,
Jeff Green

Let's try that again, with the correct spelling in the email address...
Hi Sebastian,
I don't know of any projects that would qualify.
Try asking at the Ottawa Volunteer Centre.
If you can't get one, you might have fun tutoring at the Boys and Girls Club.
You could ask if you can help the kids with computer stuff.

I already asked there, but they don't have really something I am searching
for. And young boys and girls != programming.
