Re: [OCLUG-Tech] Where to buy Linux-friendly wireless adapter for desktop PC

Thus spake Bruce Miller (subscribe [ at ] brmiller [ dot ] ca) [11/06/08 14:53]:
: I want to buy two Linux-friendly wireless adapters, preferably locally, by mail-order if necessary. These are both for desktop PCs. They could thus be PCI or USB. Neither desktop has a PC Card/PCMCIA slot.

I'd stick with PCI if you can, but as a side note, the Nintendo WiFi
adapters use rt2500usb drivers, and work just fine. They make an excellent
cheap WiFi adapter.

Given the links I was provided yesterday, you can likely check out
pccyber.com. Unfortunately, I don't see any Linux-friendly wireless cards
there. The Asus card /looks/ like it should work, but ...

Have you tried Future Shop? They carry the D-Link DWA-G520, which seems to
be an Atheros device, supported by madwifi. The fact that it's an AirPlus
XTreme G seems to indicate it's Revision B, FWIW.
