I was using this setup with Rogers in the past, but haven't used the
Scientific Atlanta Explorer settop box.  If that's necessary to your
setup (digital channels?) then you can either purchase or make an IR
transmitter to go over the front of the settop box to control it for
you.  I haven't done that myself (stuck in the Analog cable world for
the moment).
