First time I booked with Air Transat, I was required to provide my
passport ID, but never a picture. And now, they did not even ask for
this. Maybe they will ask a bit later, as my trip is booked for December
after Algonquin College semester.

Booking.com, who I have used for years, has recently been urging me to
"verify" my account. Silly me just assumed that was email and phone
numbers used for booking purposes so I started the process. Like you,
bailed when it got to the "upload suitable gov ID" request. If it
becomes mandatory with them, then lots of other ways to book travel.

I was locked out of my bank (TD) so I had to phone them.
They wanted me to upload a photo ID and something else (I stopped
listening after upload) to their "provider".
Or I can go in to a branch (which I'll do).
They didn't know or wouldn't tell me who the "provider" is.
I don't know if it's in Canada or what security they have around it.
I'm not paranoid, I just don't trust them to protect me. :-)
