Well, what a coincidence !!! As I was reading the thread of emails in the list about GrapheneOS on phones, my wife who wants to completely get out of Google (and eventually out of US products/services) also heard about GrapheneOS. A quick look told me that unfortunately, GrapheneOS is only properly supported on Google Pixel series. She has a Samsung. From there, I found that The Galaxy S25 is also hard to get another OS loaded as well. As I am also using Samsung phones, but a cheaper A series, I will also consider getting rid of Android from Google and install something else. Is there anything that I should look for as loading a different OS on my Galaxy A28 (I think this is the model) ? Or the A series in general ? As a general rule here, I think we will now avoid Samsung products for future phones. Any Android expert who could recommend another brand, one which could accept a non-Google OS ? Thanks :-) JFM On Mon, Oct 12, 2026 at 9:55 AM Dianne Skoll via linux < linux [ at ] linux-ottawa [ dot ] org> wrote: > On Sun, 11 Oct 2026 23:42:08 -0400 > Robert Echlin via linux <linux [ at ] linux-ottawa [ dot ] org> wrote: > > > Can't you think of a good reason for having a second phone? > > I have a second phone.
