At least Yahoo and Gmail are big multinational corporations and would be not absolutely nice to disclose your correspondence to government sponsored activists, calls like "We can get the warrant, but if you insist on it, we may think you are a bad guys sympathiser" and others alike, the pure Canadian small companies could be vulnerable for. Call me paranoid, but it concerns me a lot that the first "national digital right protectors" are governments of Russia and China. All their "national" e-mail, seach engine, AI and other on-line services are great tool of controlling people.
