General questions and observations

Hello,

I just visited the site at:

 * https://linux-ottawa.org

/*
*/

/*Observation 1:  Visibility of site's "active" status*/

I don't know what others feel about this, but */my impression/* is that the visible content on the "landing page" does not immediately communicate that the site *is indeed* associated with an active Community and is an actively followed site.

If one IT relevant news story was "re-published" near the top of the page, that would help "breathe life" into the site in a way that it might attract more people.

That is just my gut feel impression.

*/Observation 2:  No mailing-list descriptors/*

On the mailing list page,

 * https://lists.linux-ottawa.org/

Three is no descriptive summary paragraph outlining the different intent/audience for each of the mailing lists published.

*/Observation 3:  GitHub archive ?/*

I thought I saw mention of such an archive at some point, but haven't been able to locate that, whether it is on GitHub or GitLab or any other site for shared code.

Is there such a site and, if so, where is it located?

Again, if such exists, could that be published on the Community Wiki?

Just sharing thoughts and observations.  Thank you in advance for addressing my comments and concerns.

Eric
