Long version:
As I was going through the process to try different masks and a CPAP
machine from a local company, I met someone who admitted he was a freak
of data, information and stats. He is a statistician by career. Fine. As
we were talking about the data that the machine sends on the internet
and that the local company can retrieve, I was complaining about the few
pieces of info that I could see compared to what I could preview on the
doctor's computer. He then told me about OSCAR. OSCAR is an open source
data analysis program for those CPAP machines. OSCAR stands for Open
Source CPAP Analysis Reporter.
Most of the CPAP machines have some SD or microSD card slot that can
gather stats about your sleeping. When feeding those infos to OSCAR, you
can get all kinds of reports on how well your nights were. The data
format is open source and OSCAR can interpret and display those infos in
graphs that can be much more useful than what the CPAP machine company
can show you on a web page.
The software is available for Windows and Macs, of course, but also for
Linux and Chromebook. I tried Linux and Windows versions. I also
installed it on my Chromebook, just for the fun of it, 'cause it's
available there too !!!
It can scan your system for this removable device and find the files.
Too many graphs and too much information, way beyond what a non-medical
person could properly interpret.
OSCAR will tell you so much more than what the myair.resmed.com web site
can report.
