To follow up: One of the main developers of Double Commander found a glitch in parsing extended
headers when extracting tarballs. Apparently fixed, but will no doubt be some time before it
filters down from upstream.

Note that opening an archive manager (file-roller, xarchive) gets all the files from the tarball,
but requires more clicks of mouse.

The author sent the file and things built (apart, of course, from the usual dependency
woes). But he said the file was in the tarball.

Using CLI tar, 7z, and other tools, it's there! Thunar, Nemo and Double Commander all show
failures some of the time, and on more than one machine.

Does anyone know where the right-click scripts to do extraction are located? I've tried
to find them where some web pages claim they should be e.g., ~/.local/share/nemo/actions/
but no joy.

This is worrying, as archives should just work.
