Seems odd that a bank would require the use of an unstable version
of a browser, or is this just Gentoo's "we've not tested it fully"
definition of unstable?
Probably something in the build / packaging system.
For example, in a random React package's package.json:
"browserslist": {
"production": [
">0.2%",
"not dead",
"not op_mini all"
],
"development": [
"last 1 chrome version",
"last 1 firefox version",
"last 1 safari version"
So transpiling JS / TS for most-recent browser versions is an option,
maybe a default. It's good to push people to use reasonably up-to-date
browsers.

But that's just pants-on-head stupid. Incompetent even.
