Fwd: Canadian Web Hosting

It all depends on the numerous and redundant interconnections between the hosting service and a Canadian client, again depending on the network where the client is located. The resilient nature of Internet means that there are more than one route from point A to point B. The Linux traceroute command can help in establishing a possible route between you and hosting provider. Some routes may transit in USA, others may not.

So I would not use a Canadian-only route a criteria to say that a hosting provider is Canadian. I would rather ask about the hosting datacenter location to be in Canada.

That's my opinion.

James,

If they did go through the US (as some do), would you still consider
them a "Canadian Web Host"?

Is the routing up to them or your ISP though?
