I think that is a great suggestion for a behavior change. I have this
vague recollection that this is relatively new behavior, but that might
be from the previous list software.
I am assuming nobody will be offended if I make that change, so I'll see
about changing it tonight, however it might not happen immediately,
depends on my distraction level, but it is on my whiteboard now!

Mailmunge is already deployed on the mailing list server (it takes care
of DKIM-signing the messages and fixing up a few headers to make the
mail more likely to be deliverable.)
I can't think of any reason a mailing list should default to
Reply-To: $user instead of Reply-To: $list.
That's a policy decision on the part of the list owner(s). Changing
that for the list is above my pay grade, but I'm certainly changing
it for me. :)
