I agree about Canadian hosting (especially of critical infra) and
abandonment of solutions which cause antitrust violations and vendor
lock-in. I also think that Apple, in general, is on a positive streak,
ex. adoption of usb-c instead of lightning. The court cases are
sneaking up in the US regarding antitrust in tech - and they are big.
I agree with Dianne about the back-doors, and am reminded of a

We have no idea what backdoors exist in Windows or Mac OS that let the
US government spy. But I bet they do exist.
How about Intel and AMD processors with their "management engines"
doing who
knows what? Ban those too? Replace them with... what? ARM processors
that might be spying? RISC-V processors from China that might be
spying? These are difficult questions.
