[OCLUG-Tech] Does "git-subtree" obsolete Git submodules?

  with not much experience using either Git submodules or the newer  
git-subtree
feature, does git-subtree make submodules unnecessary? i've read in various
places how numerous people don't much care for submodules, and explain how
they've switched over to using subtrees, but it might just be that that works
for them in their particular use case.
