the current OCLUG page does not mention anything about the upcoming
meeting, and it seems unlikely that a meeting will be held on the
"first thursday" since that's jan 1, but i could be wrong. it would be
useful if, well ahead of time, the web page could -- under "Upcoming
Meetings and Events" -- actually list the date of the next meeting and
its location, even if the topic hasn't been selected.
also, i've suggested this before but have rarely made it to the
meetings -- i'm up for a techie swap meet or just plain giveaway,
given that i have a pile of useful stuff that's just taking up space
and which others might find handy.
in particular, i've managed to collect quite a number of wireless
routers (for research purposes) and certainly don't need them all, so
i'm happy to give away to anyone who can legitimately use one any of
the following:
* NETGEAR WNDR3700
* NETGEAR WNR3500L
* ASUS RT-N10
* DLINK DIR-810L
* BELKIN F6D4320-4 v1
* TP-LINK Archer c20i
* TP-LINK MR3220 v2.3 (already OpenWrt installed)
* BELKIN 10/100 5-port switch
i'm not even sure where i got some of these, and most of them were
obtained for the purpose of openwrt playing, but i've settled on a
couple decent tp-link routers these days, so i have no need for any of
the above.
i can bring them next meeting and people are welcome to take what
they want, as well as anything else i can cull from my collection.
