I think you are right. I would have prefered to stay with Gentoo but now
with a baby, I can't afford to spend too much time fiddling and tweaking my
workstation.
I am using Xubuntu on a 9 years-old laptop at work and it is rock-solid
that's why I switched to Xubuntu for my main machine at home. Maybe a 3.5
years old workstation isn't old enough to be stable running Xubuntu.
