I'll try to safely re-write it. I don't think you want to do that. If I am not mistaken those are the UUIDs of the raid partitions. The kernel scans the harddrives for those at boot time. I had thought that there were also references to the physical devices but it has been a while since I played with software raid. There must be something else that is causing your problems. Is there a (software) raid on those SCSI drives you installed? The kernel may be detecting that raid first. -- sg
