Ralph, > Where should I go to buy this memory. I live in Hull? > Can I install it myself or should I have it installed? Upgrading RAM can be done by yourself. I recommend taking the actual 256MB stick with you into a local computer shop and tell them you need something compatible with it but in a 512MB variety. If you don't know how to remove the RAM stick then get a friend to help or bring the entire machine to a store. > A final linux issue. > I am using ubuntu 6.10. > I tried to get a usb based wireless thingy? I recommend a wireless device based on the atheros chipset. AFAIK, all of the current D-Link cards are based on this chipset. Setting up atheros based cards is a breeze in Debian (what I use), so it shouldn't be all that hard in a Ubuntu disto.
