Two things come to mind: 1) A live CD such as Knoppix or Ubuntu would likely be able to auto-mount the partitions (and then copy off the files to the network or FLASH drive). 2) Maybe a nit-pick but the windows partition is more likely to be /dev/hdc1 than /dev/hdc Good luck, Jim
