Hi again,
Just doing some cleaning up of bind warnings and errors and was
wondering what this meant:
Apr 18 23:16:07 www named[1426]: loading configuration from
'/etc/named.conf'
Apr 18 23:16:07 www named[1426]: no IPv6 interfaces found
Apr 18 23:16:07 www named[1426]: couldn't add command channel
127.0.0.1#953: not found
I have looked all over but can not see where the #953 is coming from
(port?), and I do have a zone file.
Then, this is what I get every few minutes when tailing messages:
Apr 18 23:20:24 www named[1426]: client 206.248.xxx.xxx#1669: updating
zone 'myprimarydomain.net/IN': update failed: 'RRset exists (value
dependent)' prerequisite not satisfied (NXRRSET)
Apr 18 23:20:24 www named[1426]: client 206.248.xxx.xx#1670: query
'myotherhost.myprimarydomain.net/IN' denied
I do have bind running on the IIS server, but I did not think it was
running, and seeing denied is happy news. Is it because I have a reverse
zone for my local subnet?
I have allowed queries from my secondary (off site, my ISP), is this
wise? It is the ip listed above with parts I obscured.
I am not sure I am getting zones to transfer to my secondary, are there
specific things that need to be set to ensure I get a zone transfer to
the secondary when I make changes to a zone?
Thanks
Scy
