Hi all,
Slight problem: I'm running GNOME in Debian 3.1 (stable) and I have no
sound whatsoever. When I right click on the volume control panel
applet and press the "Open volume control" option, I get the following
message:
"Sorry, no mixer elements and/or devices found."
If I press on "preferences" I get an empty dialog box.
An lsmod output looks like this:
sidewinder:/home/grgaud# lsmod

I've got an MSI moboard with the VIA chipset, sound card on board. It
works with other distros, so it should work with Debian. In fact, it
works when I use KDE (same distro), so it should work with GNOME.
Don't know what the problem is, though I've tried to find it. Any help
would be appreciated, thank you.
