AFAICT, suspend-to-disk will soon be no problem for any machine (laptop or otherwise) once the various projects merge with the kernel, no? Certainly it ought to be 100% platform independent, and only requires that you have more swap than RAM, AFAIK. (A good idea anyway, IMO.)
