[OCLUG-Tech] multiple ppp (pppoe) connections

Is there a way to have the ppp interface (ppp0 or ppp1) always assigned to the
same ip address (ISP, ethernet interface, or whatever).

I have 2 ISP connections and that's all working fine but it involves a mess of
scripts to keep the firewall and routing rules working right. Sometimes
ISP#1 comes up as ppp0 and ISP2 as ppp1 but it can also be the other way
around. It would be a lot simpler to always have ISP1 come up as ppp0 for
example.

Any ideas? Can't find anything in man pppd or man pppoe. Did a google too
but no joy.

TIA

Alex
