So, here is a proposal for a more patriotic look:
The full display has the entire Maple Leaf displayed. 🙂
The modified version of the script is attached.
It also uses a modified version of the background image obtained here:
* https://creazilla.com/media/clipart/7822218/canada-halftone-flag
I was contemplating incorporating a way to embed the encoded graphic
in the script, but I held off on that for now, until further feedback.
Would also appreciate feedback on the mouseover action: retain or
eliminate?
Hi Eric,
Thank you for doing this.
I have a question regarding the background (I'm not familiar with
creazilla, and often get images from unsplash, where I have also
contributed some images). Is creazilla royalty-free?
Personally, I like the mouse-over sensitivity. What do others think?
Should the websites be links instead of written-out web addresses?
I really appreciate the effort to shape this list into something more
patriotic and aesthetic.

Since Katie was so kind as to put in the effort to create the
list, I
thought I might make a contribution by offering the attached
script,
which uses the "heredoc" approach to manage the list "database" at
the
start of the script, but offers an option (--file) to
* view HTML output in console, or
* create HTML page with same basename as script (same as
Katie's
original HTML page).
and a choice of formats,
* original per Katie's, or
* formatted HTML table.
I hope Katie finds this useful, and that all Community Members,

benefit as well as contribute by sharing updates, or maybe it is

that Katie remains the only editor and shares the updated results.

Thanks Eric!
Even with the current format (GitHub Pages site, disorganized,
unformatted, non-alphabetical, uncategorized, dateless list) please
feel free (anyone) to add to the list and edit as you see fit! I
think a background would be neat and/or some font styling.
It looks like an edit is going to be needed very soon if the
Saskatchewan LUG doesn't find a new organizer and comes to an end.
The list starts to capture history and dynamics.
The GitHub Page list can be the start to so many things beyond
capture and share. I was inspired to do this by George Hotz, who
keeps his blog on a Github Pages site. I recommend checking that
out.

Hello all,
On the list of Canadian user groups that I'm building:
https://asterismm54.github.io/CanadianUserGroups.html
I only have an email address listed for L3GO
(sigs-l3go [ at ] linux-ottawa [ dot ] org). I'm wondering if L3GO has any other
"online properties" (such as a dedicated website)?
Thank you for your help,
Katie
