Still lurking, sorry I haven't showed my face in months :/. Glad to see you folks are still going! Please, mention something good? I'm currently facing family breakdown & a housing crisis. I hope to attend once this is all over and be work-focused once again. It's been a bit tricky to show up for dinner, apologies. For now what I can say is that my home is currently quiet, my cats are doing well, and I'm grateful for the peaceful lack of noise :). Studying up on ML developments when I can. But a few days of rest goes a long way at this point. It's been completely crazy trying to get my grandmother homed elsewhere. Assault, violence, police... mental illness... I wasn't built for this, but thankfully, granny is moving on Feb 1st & will be looked after by OPGT. *If y'all know anyone looking for cheap rent...* Well, maybe Dec 25th isn't the best time to start advertising but I'm stuck with it. I've maintained a 3 story townhome (unfinished basement, 2.5 bath, 2 bedrooms, shared kitchen) for 8+ years. No partying allowed, just be respectful. I'm grandfathered in, so it's only $1600 / mo. Corner of Baseline/Clyde. By Feb 2nd (unless social workers are lying) I'll have an entire floor to rent out Living a few moments away from Algonquin College I might have a chance to make this work. My girlfriend is moving out Jan 4, grandmother is getting moved to "LTC" Feb 1 -- but as a serious nerd who has never lived with roomies, pushing 40, still actively recovering from disability & all the rest.... I'm not sure how to proceed effectively. I'd love to give a break to some college students or reputable contractors getting their, erm, shit together if it's mutually beneficial. Thank you for the kindness you've all shown me. I'll be with you folks as soon as I can be. For now, not much choice but to reach out awkwardly. I just wish I could find a proper software nerd job pronto (I'm an unsung C family lord, but out of date on what needs are and how to market myself). I need to cover my bills, and be helpful to society @ scale once again -- and hopefully find someone who just wants to be left alone in their own space to work while I get back on my feet. Moving forward, I envision sharing this space with any sort of tech professional who wants to save up & understands the circumstances I'm exiting. Full lease transfer, up for conversation. All thoughts welcome. Sorry this arrived on Christmas. Take care of yourselves and be well :).
