Awesome post - loved that talk (Doctorow talks a lot about lock-in as a
source of "enshittification").
Do you happen to know where the lock-in is coming from in Canada? I
notice that the GoC has captured Provincial governments as being
"non-implementers" in this country (here, for example:
https://code.open.canada.ca/en/open-source-softwares.html), but I think
that it would be a stretch to say that they support vendor lock, so it
is difficult to know what's going on.. seems like justification for an
audit. I am concerned that our national resources are being aimed at
audits, rather than advertising and knowledge translation.
Enshittification indeed :(
