Linux OS - Made in Canada?

Complete newbie looking for advise..

I want to use a Linux OS, but I want to use a Linux distribution that is "Made in Canada".

I have not any recent experience installing such at home. Would anybody have any pointers, or wish headlong to do this? (Perhaps forcing them to make in the academics -since afforded.)

What percentage is local content in the release? Did they package software them-self or just repackage another distro?

Can it provide Linux kernel 2.6 that works on my 486 like Slackware does? Will it support Word Perfect and future? Even will it support vi!

Right now: I use Ubuntu on Ryzen, but my national pride is not answered to when watching YouTube videos in home media centre, even when videos are produce from Canada to mention Linux Tech Tips. Seriously, a "turn down" compared to what could be? So far for S.T.E.M to have this, but why make it a socialist? Perhaps the money arrives to local industrial for Desktop, mostly to avoid the problem?

Mobile phone is the myth, as desktop needs to be continue.

Thanks,
