I am looking for a good (!) video capture device that can capture HDMI output from a computer, Chromebook, Android cell phone, etc...... Anything that has an HDMI output port. This is to do screen snapshots and video capture for demonstrations. I realized I will not be able to demonstrate Ventoy running while booting, unless I convert a physical USB device to an ISO file and try (!) to use it within a VM. But if I can capture the output from an external device, I will be able to save it for future, but also for live demo of about anything I want to show.

Any good or bad experiences with such devices under Linux ? I did a quick Google search and it looks like there are several devices, actually too many options to be able to properly select.

My requirements are:

- Must run with Linux
- Need to be an external device
- Need to connect on USB 3
- Need an output port to connect to a monitor

Thanks :-)
