Mary and I are using our Raspberry Pi as a place to share Gramps databases for family history. We do this with sshfs john@raspberrypi.local:/home/john/ /home/smnt/MyGramps I did an update of the pi software recently (quite a few MB), and now this doesn't work. I've checked that the failure is in the ssh connection: ssh john@raspberrypi.local gives sshfs john@raspberrypi.local:/home/john/ /home/smnt/MyGramps But finding that 192.168.9.154 is the pi allows connection > john@john-J19B:~$ ssh john@192.168.9.154 > Linux raspberrypi 5.4.72-v7l+ #1356 SMP Thu Oct 22 13:57:51 BST 2020 armv7l > > The programs included with the Debian GNU/Linux system are free software; > the exact distribution terms for each program are described in the > individual files in /usr/share/doc/*/copyright. > > Debian GNU/Linux comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY, to the extent > permitted by applicable law. > Last login: Thu Nov 26 18:54:01 2020 from 192.168.9.152 > john@raspberrypi:~ $ hostname > raspberrypi > john@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo service --status-all | grep avahi > [sudo] password for john: > [ + ] avahi-daemon And both machines are running avahi-daemon.
