Hi Jeremy,Like Rob Day says, the way you set up the environment is affected by what languages you are working with, what type of development you are doing. Your answer helps a lot. For instance, you are not developing a web service scaled in the cloud with a requirement for fast deployment. Some services that would normally be expected in a software development environment: - a central server to build the code on, and control the tests - version control system- ticketing system- sprint management software (if you are using Agile or Scrum) Also needed, but your regular IT staff can provide: - offsite backups- VPN access for people working from home at least occasionally I am available at this time, but am interviewing for full time work.Call me and we can chat. I think there are others here who would also be interested. Rob -- Rob Echlin, B. I am not looking for a software developer. I am looking for someone who can do IT for a Linux based software development environment. The plan is to do software development on Linux servers from workstations that are Windows Bases. The developed software is then tested on Linux based based targets which are also servers but are embedded computers connected to the development network via a wireless interface. I hope that helps.
