friends ... never happy with the quality of linux books you find in the computer section of the bookstore? here's your chance to weigh in and suggest ways to make a *possible* linux firewalls book better. in addition to pre-pub reviewing books for a couple publishers (for which, if you're interested, the eventual hourly remuneration is probably around 75c an hour :-), i occasionally get asked to review a simple *proposal* for a book to see if there's any potential in it. i got the attached -- a proposal for a new linux firewalls book (with the identifying preamble removed). i'm going to go over it this weekend, but i'm curious as to what others think -- if you were looking for a linux firewalls book and you picked one off the shelf with the attached outline, would it interest you? are there critical topics missing? are there topics listed that have little value? etc, etc. i've just skimmed it and will go over it more comprehensively over the next couple days, but if you're interested and want to invest a few minutes and check it out and post your thoughts as to what would make it a noticeably better book, i will collect it all and pass it on. and in the end, more feedback might end up producing a best-seller. :-) rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P.
