someone asked for the output of fdisk -l and cat /boot/grub/menulist.lst on
my system. Perhaps it will help clarify things.

 sudo fdisk -l

Disk /dev/sda: 40.0 GB, 40020664320 bytes

Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x4c11d350

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

Partition table entries are not in disk order

====================================

Disk /dev/sda: 2013 MB, 2013265920 bytes
129 heads, 32 sectors/track, 952 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 4128 * 512 = 2113536 bytes

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1   *           1         949     1957872    6  FAT16
Partition 1 has different physical/logical endings:
     phys=(956, 128, 32) logical=(948, 75, 32)

The information below the ============
is given only while I am on 6.10. Not while I am on 7.10.

The output of the command:
sudo cat /boot/grub/menulist.lst
I put in the attachment as it is large.

It clear that I have 3 linuxes.
So when I "I updated to 7.04 and then 7.10" I was really adding
installations.
