[OCLUG-Tech] trouble with ntfs disk

I picked up an old laptop drive and had some trouble cleaning it off.

I was unable to delete the flash.ocx.
I had mounted the drive rw using an old knoppix (3.04) and as root I was
unable to delete it.
I tried changing the permissions and it again failed.

I had a similar trouble when I tried with the SuSE 9.3

I finally found an XP machine I could use for a minute and changed the
permissions there and removed he unneeded files.

Last night after getting the last of the files off I reformatted it

I'm trying to put a vFAT partition on it and get more errors (My daughter
still plays games on a win98 machine)

#mkfs -t vfat /dev/sda1
mkfs.vfat 2.10 (22 Sep 2003)
Device mounted using subfs, please do not access it while creating filesystem
