What would be the environmental impact comparison if servers were
provided by a commercial service as opposed to maintaining your own in
your home or business?

Personal cost would be greater, I assume, but would there be any
economies of scale as far as the environment is concerned?

Going further, would there be any environmental advantage if all
computer services/applications were provided from central servers?

(Ignoring loss of personal control of the OS)
