I Ditto: sounds like you have a bad port, or it's badly configured in BIOS. PS I was going through used PCI cards at Bloom in the east end, and took out a few modems. One staffer suggested I was *not* going to find a full hardware modem in there for Linux. At least he knows the diff tween "hardware modem" and "full hardware modem". I used their internet hookup to compare FCC numbers against the start.at/modem website, and found one. A little bit of learning how to mess with COM ports in my BIOS, and I have a $15 pci modem! Of course it's a USR. ___________________________________________________________________________ Say NO to HTML emails: http://expita.com/nomime.html
