Here's an update on my quest for a good gui-based usenet newsreader. Tried Pan: lousy threading Tried Evolution: good for mail, not so good for news Tried Thunderbird: same comment as Evolution So it's back to good old, text-based slrn. Oh, well. Incidentally, this is very much the same experience I've had with finding a decent gui replacement to Midnight Commander. There are lots of very nice gui file managers out there, but I haven't found one that matches MC. Is there a pattern here? Jack
