I've been reading up a bit on load averages, and looking at the output of /proc/loadavg. I'm writing a program where I want to get the "generic load average", similar to the xload, or the load applet in gnome. My initial thought was to use the first load average displayed by cat /proc/loadavg (the 10 sec avg). Does this make sense? If not, where should I look to get an accurate representation of the system's load? thanks, -- Trevor Curtis http://www.somaradio.ca/~tcurtis
